The smell from the forest filled Bella’s nose as she continued to walk, each step causing some type of noise, whether it be a snapping twig or the crunching of a fallen leaf. Normally, people walking in the woods tended to be quiet, or at least tried to be. Bella however, had given up on that half a hour ago, the exact time that she realized that she was no longer on the dirt path and was undeniably lost. Like anyone in her situation, Bella had tried to lie to herself, saying that she must have just stepped of it and if she retraced, she would soon come upon it again. After doing this for five minuets, Bella found herself nowhere closer to said walkway.
Angry and frustrated at her own stupidity; Bella sighed in defeat and sat down on a nearby fallen log, all the while cursing herself for thinking that a walk in the woods would be enjoyable. At the time that the thought had crossed her mind, she had just gotten off of the phone with her mother, who had told her daughter that she was coming up early to spend time with her before the wedding.
Most daughters would be ecstatic about this news and even though the thought of it was nice to Bella, there was also worry. The last thing she wanted to do was to drag her mother into something that could put her at risk. Sadly, this meant most of Bella’s life. When the conversation had come to an end, Bella had found herself unable to think of anything to stop her mother from coming. It would have been a lie as well to say that Bella didn’t badly want Renee to come, no matter how terrible the thought itself was.
All of this had finally taken a toll on the teenage girl and Bella found herself wanting nothing more than some alone time to straighten out her thoughts. It had been a while since she had been able to obtain any, what with Alice constantly calling her about wedding plans and things of that nature. This wasn’t meant to be taken that Bella was having second thoughts. It was just that she had a lot on her mind at the moment which also caused a lot of stress. She had been so lost in her thoughts as she walked that she had unkowing stepped of the path. Maybe it is a good thing I’m lost, Bella thought as she did her best to stay positive, her eyes taking in the peaceful surroundings. Secretly, she prayed that someone would find her soon.

Leah Clearwater was wandering through a forest. Why? Well there were a couple of different reasons. One being that she was a werewolf and it was her duty as some of the other werewolves put it to scout around, contact them if she found anything. The second reason was the reason as to why she was obeying the first reason, she loved forests. Everything from the looks to the smell. It inhibited and almost enhanced her in a weird way. There were so many things that came together in a forest. Owls and small squirrels, spiders (disgusting) and other small nature animals lived quite peacefully together-except for mealtimes. Even before she became a werewolf she loved the scent, the scenery of a forest. She was by no means an outdoorsy sort of girl but long walks through the forest cleared her head and nostrils. The third reason as to her presence in Hoh Forest was due to the fact that it was located in Forks-or surrounded it anyhow. She rarely went to Forks, avoided it by all means possible. But here she had a chance to scout around and compare her forest to Forks forest.
The treaty with the Cullen’s had long past dissolved. They had chosen to break it. It was worded very clearly. And ever since Jacob Black had found out that Bella was to be bitten...to become one of them, that was clearly a breach of contract. She needent think about Jake Black right now. He was most likely off in a temper tantrum somewhere. Leah couldn’t help but side with Jake on this one. Who would want to become a bloodsucker anyhow? Not to mention it was clear as a day anywhere outside of Forks that they were in love. It was only a wonder why he hadn’t imprinted with her. Maybe they actually had? Or he had. And perhaps he didn’t even know it. Was that a possibility? Perhaps. Perhaps not.
“Jake Black.” Leah whispered to herself in disproval. All of this, all of them had seemed to cause trouble. But the trouble seemed to begin soon after the arrival of one Bella Swan. Though Leah couldn’t fault her for their trouble. How was she to know that vampires turned them into werewolves? And it wasn’t her fault at all but the vampires. The weird thing was that the vampires had been there all along and only Sam had changed. No. Don’t think about Sam Leah. She coaxed herself. Instead she cleared her mind and changed the subject. She wouldn’t give up being a werewolf for anything. It had so many perks. Wonderful, wonderful perks. Leah had always been beautiful but she felt that personally she was now gorgeous. And if good looks weren’t enough of a blessing there was the fact that she wouldn’t age a minute if she kept on phasing. She could give a few years of her life to the pack if she was ageless. Time would be nothing for her.
She couldn’t help but smile at the thought that she would never, ever die. Wordlessly she seemed to glide herself in the forest. She avoided low branches and making more than minimal noise, as minimal as was possible. She was never as clumsy since she became a werewolf. She had the feeling that she could juggle watermelons on key like a true professional. Her smile turned to an infamous grin. She was thinking about her voluptuous breasts. She knew that she shouldn’t and it was probably perverted of herself but her thoughts slide back into her conceded self. And then from smile, to grin, to conceded self, her thoughts turned to hate. She couldn’t help but let her thoughts slide to her cousin, Emily Young. She was ten times prettier than her! Ten times squared to the hundredth power.
Out of anger or loss of temper, (though not angrily enough to loose it and phase) Leah began to stick her fist into a tree. Though she stopped short, controlling her anger. The tree had never done anything to her. And if she had attacked the tree she would have to at the very least not make it look like someone’s hand did that and make it look natural. Covering things up was boring. “pregnant dog.” She couldn’t help but utter from her lips. She turned away from the tree and began to walk into the forest depths some more. Instead of before how she was so light on her feet and seemed to float through the forest she stomped angrily on every leaf, twig, bug that crossed her path.
It wasn’t exactly a clearing when she saw it. A figure sitting on a log. The area was more like a camouflaged hideaway (to her anyhow). It was just a lone tree that had fallen. And life around the fallen tree had not stopped as its roots left it. No. The forest kept on thriving near the tree. And if you hadn’t looked in the right direction, even given it the right kind of glance you wouldn’t have noticed it. The only reason she noticed it was that a figure was sitting on the tree. Her lips gave way from utter hatred to hatred forming a tight scowl-for in her mind Emily was worse than a vampire. Vampire? Leah couldn’t help but think. This wasn’t afterall La Push territory. Free for all.
Leah stared at the figure and approached, being as quiet as she could. She knew that she should have sent a message for help or something. Last time she had nearly gotten killed till Jacob saved her. But she felt that she needed to prove herself. She wouldn’t be the weak first female werewolf. She would be just as tough as the guys. Her expression changed to that of confusion after she identified who the figure was. Bella Swan. She had never really talked to Bella. She had been at the Black’s house with her family while they had dined together, but she had spent most of that on the phone.
“Bella Swan.” Leah replied in a neutral voice as she slowly approached, letting the leaves now crackle under her feet. She sniffed the air. Bella smelled of the cold ones but she still had her human scent even though it may have seemed masked. She wasn’t one of them...yet. She wondered what she should do. Alert Jake? The pack? What did they want to do exactly? Hold Bella hostage so that the vampires couldn’t turn her? Probably so. But would she? That was a whole new question.

The sound of someone speaking her name broke the silence the same way a explosion would, making Bella jump, the log shifting below her. At first she thought that Alice had finally seen her in a vision and had come to rescue her but Bella realized that wasn’t true. The voice that had spoken to her wasn’t very familiar and Bella found herself racking her brain, going over all the names she knew. No one came to mind. This left one option. Slowly, Bella turned on the log, her wide gaze going to the source of the noise to see a girl around her age. Her shock still registered on her face, Bella took in the fellow teens features, almost feeling a little envious of her looks. There was no doubt that she was pretty, her long dark hair alone was enough to make others feel their self-esteem drop. It was during this that Bella was able to identify who the person was.
“Leah?” Bella’s voice wavered unsurely though now there was no doubt in her mind that she had guessed right. In all her time spent in La Push, Bella had only managed to catch a glimpse of the female werewolf but she could still remember the stories she had been told. It was hard to explain how she felt towards Leah. Most of it was sympathy for what had happened with Sam and Emily, and the rest was awkwardness at knowing such a personal thing about someone she had never talked to very much. The last time Bella had even heard Emily’s name was after the battle with the newborns when she was told about Jacob.
Jacob. The name pierced Bella’s chest like an arrow, sending small waves of pain radiating throughout her body and making it somewhat difficult to breath. It had been weeks since Bella had last talked to him, the day she had ended their friendship to be with Edward. While Bella knew she had made the right choice, she felt hurt that it had come down to that. Without thinking, her eyes scanned the area behind Emily, as if waiting for Jacob to magically step out from behind a tree. Stop that! Bella scolded herself as she made her focus go back to Leah as she did her best to push her pervious thoughts to the back of her head.
“How are you?” Her voice was barely above a whisper but Bella knew Leah had heard it. She could only hope that Leah didn’t notice how much it had taken to not ask about Jacob.

Leah couldn’t help but laugh as she watched Bella jump. It was a silent laugh but one that moved and showed her facial expressions. She was never very hidden about her facial expressions when they could bring tears to someone’s eyes. Yet, if she felt the need to be reserved with her face, then she could. By the time Bella faced her she had on a blank stare. Her face was one of watching, looking fairly amused but yet uncaring all at the same time. A look that that the person being watched could obviously guess if they were so bold as to guess that in fact along with her amusing look or blankness she was trying not to laugh. And why shouldn’t she? Bella had jumped. And later, if she so had to tell the story. She would say that Bella had jumped nearly ten feet into the air with fright.
“You have a good memory.” She commented. She was actually surprised that Bella Swan had guessed her name on her first try. It was never like they had been formally introduced. In fact the two had never spoken so much as a word to each other, much less than crossing each other’s paths. There was the dinner and then the campfire. Both times they hadn’t spoken to each other. Now that she looked upon it she wondered how Bella knew her name? It was obvious that Jake had told her...but why? She was puzzled but tried not to show it. If Jake told her...I’ll kill him! Leah couldn’t help but think. If Bella asked her how she knew her name she would respond with ‘how do I not?’
“How am I?” Leah questioned. She moved forwards stepping closer to lessen the distance between them. Bella had a soft voice. Or was that because she was embarrassed? Leah spoke loud, with dignity, and could easily be heard within the surrounding area-not to mention inside the mind of every pack werewolf. “Do you really care?” She retorted back at the girl. And then before Bella had a chance to answer with a yes or a no, not really she continued on.
“A bit pissed off. Annoyed.” Leah told the girl in a neutral voice. Not trying to seem as pissed off as she really was. “Not really sure what I’m supposed to be doing here. It’s either a mutated cross between looking for vampires or you.” She answered. “I could be doing something else. Something fun.” She complained, this time showing some emotion in her voice. Too much emptiness was fake. She wouldn’t let this girl, Bella, see how well she had masked her emotions. That would lead to questions and she d**n well knew now that Bella knew about her...her and a certain pack leader.
“But enough about me.” Leah expressed before Bella could get a word in word wise. “How are you?” She questioned very politely. She could care less how Bella Swan was doing in the world. She had seen enough of Bella through Jakes dreams to last her a lifetime, or two! “Were you expecting him or more pack members to appear?” Leah suggested slyly. The ‘him’ obviously meant Jacob. She had taken particular note of how she did not ask about him. It was either because she wouldn’t or because she had never spoken to Leah before.
Did she want to reveal yet that they weren’t here? The pack members. That they probably wouldn’t find them until later. Leah was alright about projecting some things out of her memory but sooner or later the pack would know. She began to hum a little something under her breath. She was trying to tune out the pack member thoughts. The mere thought of Leah talking to Bella was frightening.

“Do you really care?” The voice replied, the sound of it so unlike Bella’s, whose was weak. Leah’s instead was strong, confidence almost dripping from it. While this was true, the tone of it was harsh, at least that was how it sounded to Bella’s ears, and once she fitted it with the words, Bella couldn’t help but almost flinch. Maybe that wasn’t the best thing to ask, Bella thought as she stacked that up with another one of failed ideas. Not wanting Leah to think that Bella didn’t really care, the human girl opened her mouth to reply when she was cut off as Leah’s voice once again came fourth. This time though the harsh undertone was replaced by a far too neutral sound. It was obvious that the fellow teen was more angered about all of this than she let on.
As if this wasn’t enough to confuse Bella, Leah’s voice had taken on a polite notion as Leah asked her how she was. It made Bella feel like she had been in a whirlwind, her mind working to find where she stood in the girl’s perspective. She knew that Leah most likely looked at her as the “traitorous human” for choosing to become a vampire but Bella found herself not really caring about that.
“I’m fine.” Bella responded, her voice losing its shakiness but still remaining quiet. She didn’t feel the need to speak loud, especially since the one she was talking to had better hearing than Bella could ever dream of. The second question was a little harder to answer, maybe because Bella herself was uncertain about how she felt. There was no lie that she had hoped a little that Jacob was there, but then again she knew that no good would come from it. The same went for the rest of the pack, even seeing Leah there; standing in front of her was something that Bella was uneasy with.
“I hope that I won’t see them.” Bella finally said, feeling that the truth was the best answer she could give. “There is no reason for them to be. No one is in any danger.”

She was hardly surprised when Bella Swan answered her question. Over the years most people had manners drilled into their brains. You asked how the other person was and then they asked how you were. It was a routine response. How are you one person says, and then the other replied with fine or alright and then asks the question of the other. Drilled, drilled responses. Even if you weren’t alright you said fine and even if you were doing great, super great, you won the million dollar lottery great you still responded with alright. You gave away nothing more and nothing less.
Leah chuckled. “Of course you would hope that, darling.” The use of the word darling burst her into another short round of harmless laughter. It was more for the packs amusement than her own. If anyone in all of the pack could find Bella they would not have wished Leah Clearwater upon the poor girl! Leah was spiteful, she was cruel, manipulate and uncaring. And by now the whole pack new that she was talking to Bella. The only thing the pack couldn’t figure out was where she was exactly. They were trying to pinpoint her location. They could try all they liked but they wouldn’t find her right away. And when they found her, she would be done talking to Miss Swan.
“No danger? But you are my dear, you are.” Leah claimed. This was almost as fun as thinking about who could be the half brother of Embry. The candidates as all the pack members knew were: Quil, Sam, and Jacob. No! This seemed even funnier. This seemed like a fun and interesting little game to play in the surrounding forests of Forks. Forests that were only half rate to hers back in La Push. “You are.” She repeated herself.
“You see.” Leah began as she brought her right hand and curved it around the right side of her mouth, forming half of a speaker cone, as if she were to tell a secret to the young woman even though they were a distance apart. “Jake and the other pack members are convinced that you’re going to become a vampire. And that by definition is danger..ous.” She replied in a cheerful voice, expressing the ‘ous’ part. She now had her hand by her side as she took a few more steps closer to the direction of Bella.

Bella had gone from feeling slightly compassionate for Leah to dislike in a matter of a few seconds. She didn’t like the presence the young woman emitted and was surprised that she had not seen it before. Jacob had told Bella that Leah wasn’t to be pitied, that she was scornful, but Bella hadn’t listened to him. She had thought that Leah was just misunderstood. Anyone would surely act the same way if the love of their life was taken by someone they trusted. Even if this was true, and Leah had a just cause for all of this, Bella didn’t understand why it seemed that Leah took joy in causing others trouble.
What got to Bella was most was the way Leah seemed to taunt the life that Bella had chosen. To Bella, it seemed as if Leah was saying that the second Bella became a vampire, the death toll in town would spike. Granted Bella may have misunderstood Leah's words, but deep inside, this was one of the things that nagged at Bella constantly. Her worst fear was that she would lose control and kill someone, maybe even someone she knew. That tiny thought was enough to make Bella feel sick. Shaking her head to clear the thoughts from her mind, Bella told herself what she had been telling herself for almost a year now. There was no way that she was going to do that, and, god forbid if that were close to even happening, Edward or any member of the Cullen family would stop her. It worked. The unwanted thoughts were pushed to the back of her mind, leaving just Leah and the present to deal with.
“I’m grateful for everything you all have done for me in the past but I don’t think that what I do in the future is any of your concern.” Bella said, doing her best to keep any unwanted emotion from slipping through.

“Of course what you do in the future is none of my business.” Leah grinned. “However, what the vampires do IS MY business.” She emphasized the ‘is and my’. Did Leah need to remind her about the treaty the Cullen’s agreed to? Did she need to remind Bella also about how she and the other pack members became werewolves because of the vampire’s presence? They were the protectors, or whatever else Sam called them.
“Where are your keepers, or babysitters?” She questioned curiously. She had learned from thoughts of Jake that Bella, each time she came to La Push had been driven to the dividing line by Edwards, picked up by Jake, and then visa versa for the return home. She had been wondering where they were from the beginning. Leah couldn’t take on all four of them if they tried anything. She would be utterly screwed. It was a war afterall. And in wars you took no survivors.
She slanted herself against a tree now, paying no attention to the empty bird nest or the bugs that crawled on the trunk. She was staring point blank at Bella. She could tell it in the girl’s eyes that she disliked her. If Leah was in the same presence, Leah would dislike Leah. But unfortunately Leah was Leah, so Leah had to like Leah, or just not hurt Leah anyhow. She wrapped her arms around each other, positioning them underneath her breasts.
She was secretly glad that this Bella Swan girl disliked her. She did not want her to like her. She did not need the pity of anyone. Anyone who knew about her and Sam she automatically disliked. It was apparently pain stakingly obvious that Jake had told Bella everything about her, the parts about Sam anyhow. Elsewise how would she know her name? Hers was a story that wouldn’t be quite forgotten. Love a guy but then years later he loves your cousin. It took all her strength to not clench her teeth together. She would kill, KILL Jacob Black for telling Bella what was none of her business.

Bella knew what Leah was talking about. The treaty. That was what it all came down to. In her head, Bella was close to throwing a fit. She was sick of the treaty, of hearing about it and it having such a strong grip on her life. It was beyond her why no one could see that Bella had chosen this. That no one had forced her. Granted, there were some things that added to the list of reason, such as the Volutri, but Bella had wanted to become a vampire before any of that had happened. Now there was going to be a war all because Bella wanted to live with the love of her life, forever. She wanted to scream at them all and tell them that could shove the treaty. There was no reason to fight over any of this.
“They are busy at the moment.” Bella said referring to the Cullen’s. She chose to ignore Leah’s jest since she guessed that Leah was getting more of a kick out of this than herself. It was pointless to give the girl more satisfaction of getting under Bella’s skin. Watching as Leah leaned against the tree next to her, Bella felt glad that what she had said was true. The last thing anyone needed was for one of them to show up and have a fight start.
“This whole thing is stupid.” Bella spit out, giving into the irritation that was filling every part of her body. “Can’t you all just let this go?”

“They are busy at the moment.” She mouthed to herself, wordless. Since when were they too busy to watch their little precious? She tilted her head to the side to get a better view of Bella. All the same she was subconsciously taking in the smells of the area to see if the cold ones were among them or coming. She couldn’t trust Bella’s answer. She wouldn’t trust the answer of some girl she just met, who wished to be a vampire; this was her life she was talking about. Leah wouldn’t trust her life on a reply that her vampire keepers weren’t here. If not, then they were certainly coming for her.
“NO!” She responded, her voice filling in anger. Swan didn’t get this. She pushed herself forwards so that she wasn’t leaning against the tree. “Don’t you see you’re the cause of this ‘war’ ” She quoted making rabbit ears with her fingers. “The vampires signed a treaty with my ancestors. If they hadn’t... Let’s just say the early settlers would have gathered most of this here wood for a bonfire.” She was implying that they would be steaked to death.
“Foolish decision of my ancestors.” She muttered in only a voice that Leah could hear. “My ancestors.” She replied speaking up so that Bella could once again hear her. “Only agreed to the treaty because they said they hunted off of animals and never touched human blood. Touching human blood null and voids the treaty. And what’s a werewolves purpose?” She asked rhetorically.
“Don’t answer that.” She replied as if hearing the answer from another’s lips would have pained her somehow. “We both know the answer.” And they did both know the answer. She knew that Jake had told Bella how they of La Push with the correct blood turned into werewolves because of a vampire’s presence. It was their sworn duty to protect. And protect she shall, until, of course, she figured out a way to get out of this town. She didn’t want to be trapped here helping until the council was dead. But she couldn’t live with herself if vampires...thrived.

Bella listened patiently to Leah, repeating the werewolf’s words in her head. She was the start of the war. The words had been like a smack in the face but Bella didn’t stop herself from feeling the pain they inflicted. It was true. She was the start of the war. She was the reason why those she cared about were in danger. Unable to keep Leah’s angry gaze, Bella’s eyes dropped to the canopy floor of the forest. She starred hard at the leaf covered ground, her thoughts running through her head at almost light speed. She had knew before that she was the reason for all of this, no matter how much anyone else denied it.
Did Leah really think that Bella just thought that this had nothing to do with her. There was no way that she could explain to woman standing in front of her how she felt about making everyone suffer like this. About putting Edward and his family in this dangerous position or even putting the pack in it. It was something that no matter what, Bella would not be able to forgive herself, if something bad were to happen from it.
“The Cullen’s are good. They are so very different from the others” Bella replied softly, her eyes lifting to the Leah. While she agreed with everything bad Leah had said about herself, Bella refused to let any member of her future family be insulted, especially when it was by someone who didn’t know them. Looking at Leah closely, Bella had to wonder if the girl would even register her words. Was Leah really so stubborn to just assume that all vampires were evil creatures?
How could Leah think that anyone of Edward’s family would harm a human? Carlisle put himself in physical pain everyday of his life just to save the lives of his supposed to be prey. Could the werewolves condemn him? What about Esme, who was so motherly of almost everyone, or Edward, who on first meeting Bella, had fought back the urge to kill her right then and there? Surely this proved that they could be trusted.

Jacob wandered aimlessly through the forest, he sighed, leaning against a tree, catching his breath. He heard voices off in the distance, not too far, but not close enough for him to make out their words. At once, however, he picked Leah's voice out, though the other one was too hard to reconize. Jacob being Jacob, decided to go nearer. As he approached, Jacob realized the awful stanch of a vampire was able to be reconized. It was there but not quite. He strained his eyes, and sure enough it was Leah with the vampire-girl.
Slowly, Jacob bared his teath. Being a fairly new werewolf, the boy wasn't able to completely control himself, yet. He growled lightly at the Swan-girl, the stench of vampire burning his nose. Jacob struggled to control himself, fighting back the urge to change into a wolf.
Slowly, he came back to his sences, his hands, balled into fists, were still shaking the slightest bit. He sighed and forced himself to move forward.
"What are you doing here?" he growled at Bella, then swiftly looking up at Leah, wondering why, if Bella was on the enemy's side, why she wasn't tearing the vampire-girl up. "Leah," he nodded in Leah's direction, acknowledging the other werewolf's preasence. [/blockquote]

Her angry face was finally working. Bella was the one to turn away first. Leah had no humility in her for others dignities. Leah opened her mouth and then closed it. She had been about to say: ‘Interesting Leaves?’ But she instantly thought better of it. She knew that Bella was ‘in love’ with the vampire. Though she could never picture loving a vampire herself she knew what love was. Or she once knew what love was. Could she fault the girl for love? No, she couldn’t. But that didn’t mean she had to be all nice to the girl. Every day her younger brother Seth was put in danger, (even though he had one vampire kill to his name) and even though she acted like she didn’t like him, she did. He was her brother.
“Different from others? I’ll say.” She coldly remarked. She could easily think of a bakers dozen of things in which the Cullen’s were different from others. One was the fact that they were loaded, they had a nice house (though she had never seen it) and nice cars (which Leah could only dream about), not to mention the wardrobe of a celebrity (one which Leah could only want and fantasize about). So different from others? Yes, yes they were. Leah was far from jealous of blood suckers!
She was about to reply when she heard the sounds of light growling. “Jacob.” She said shocked. She honestly was full of surprise. The pack members or at least Jacob had gotten here far faster than she had ever imagined. She had all eyes on Jacob, putting Bella out of sight and mind. He was hissing at Jake Black's dearest friend. Black would be pissed. She grinned.
She nodded her head back at Jacob. She honestly thought that Jake would be mad at her for not calling her to come here. Was she going to have to seperate them? She got the feeling that Sorrentino wanted to rip poor, sweet Bella apart.
oOc-Fixed it.

Jacob hadn't been with the other pack members, he never was. Being a young werewolf meant the poor boy wasn't able to control his anger, and even worse was his non-wolf related anger problems that made it worse for him.
Jacob sighed, glaring at Leah and Bella through his long bangs that fell in his face. He couldn't understand why Leah would choose to associate with the one girl that the started this whole fight between the wolves and the bloodsuckers.
For Jacob, it was sickening.
"Why are you here?" Jacob asked Leah, his dark eyes focusing on her pretty face. "Associating with leeches," he muttered loudly to himself, then turned to Bella, "No offense or anything," he sneered, glaring at her. It was pathetic, how could she be friends with Jacob Black when she was going to marry a bloodsucker?

One second it had been Bella and Leah, and then the next someone was joining them. She hadn’t heard him coming so when a figure suddenly stepped out from behind a tree, Bella felt her heart leap. Now though, as she took in his physical appearance, she felt silly for having such a reaction. He looked to be few years younger than her, his face partly covered by the dark hair that fell into his eyes. Besides that, he seemed normal making Bella wonder if he stumbled in on their conversation without meaning to. She was wrong.
Instead of acting embarrassed for interrupting, the teenage boy barred his teeth at Bella, a similar sound to a growl coming fourth. It took only a split second to realize that the boy was not normal, and watching as he glance between Leah and herself, Bella put the pieces together. The werewolf pack had gotten a new member. This isn’t good. Ran through Bella’s head as she remembered what Edward and Alice had warned her about young werewolves. It didn’t help that the new member was so quick to jump on the “hate Bella wagon”.
Bella was about to speak in reply to Leah’s stubbornness but the name that had come from the other woman’s lips made Bella’s heart launch in her chest. Leah had said Jacob and Bella was instantly reminded of Jacob Black. Her brown eyes darted around briefly, this time almost expecting him to appear. Why else would Leah say his name? It wasn’t till a few seconds later, when Jacob Black didn’t appear, that Bella found she had misunderstood Leah. Heart beat returning to normal, Bella’s gaze landed on the boy. It had been him that Leah had spoken to. So the pack had another Jacob.
Speechless. That was what Bella was at the moment as she half listened to the to werewolves talk. Her mind was telling her that now would be the time to leave. She couldn’t risk Edward or anyone else showing up and finding her in this company.
