The rhythmic sound of his feet hitting the ground was the only thing to be heard for miles. He was alone to an extent of insanity, accompanied by a blanket of silence. Even self induced solitary could drive one to the edge. He just needed time to think, about everything. Though to his utter annoyance his thoughts always went back to the same person; Isabella Swan. The last thing he wanted to do was put her through any pain, and hurting Jacob would hurt her. Yet the war had been declared so he had to do something, though it didn’t exactly make him sleep any better. What was he thinking? He didn’t sleep, so why did he care whether or not he lost sleep over the werewolves who took the first move in the war?
Because, if only for now Bella still has to sleep with my decisions. He ran his fingers through his hair, letting out an exaggerated breath. Something he would have to learn to regulate these days would be just that; breathing. He either breathed too heavily or he didn’t breath at all, no medium seemed to appear for him. The stupid pack with their stupid agenda. It was Bella choice; they couldn’t stop her from her own happiness. That would be cruel and irrational on their parts. They didn’t own anyone around her; they couldn’t pretend to rule the world because they didn’t. Intelligent minds can make their own decisions and though Bella didn’t always realize it her mind was priceless.
He kicked a small pebble far enough, not remembering to be careful with his own strength. Another thing that worried him; the promise he made to Bella. She was still going to be fragile and he was going to have to take every precaution if he went through with it. There was no if about it tragically though, he had given his word. A wedding and a wedding night, both were going to be rather complicated things. It didn’t matter though he thought triumphantly because Bella will always be right there with me.
He felt calm, if only for one blissful moment. He turned on his toes resolved to walk back to the house and sit down with his family and talk about their options. It was a rather horrible way of thinking about it but at this moment everything was going to be injure or get injured, kill or be killed. His main motive was always going to be keeping Bella safe though, his every thought was about Bella, and all his actions were going to be taken to keep her safe.
